Stay at Home and Hop!

Hello and welcome! Happy National Quilting Day!

Life has changed a fair amount for most of us this last week or so; we're all staying home more, and we're adjusting to kids being home, different work situations, lack of toilet paper (!). Hopefully in amongst everything else, you're finding more time to do activities that feed your soul--in many of our cases, quilting--having a project (or four) going is a good way to distract yourself from worry and help pass the time.

I'm excited to introduce you to Day 1 of the Virtual Designer Shop Hop. 40+ designers have grouped together to make the best of social distancing--offering you an opportunity to socialize virtually and hopefully meet some new quilting friends.

A little about me:

If this is your first time visiting my blog, I'm so glad you're here! I'm a mom of three boys, and my family lives in southwest Michigan. I've been quilting since I graduated from college, and working in the quilting industry since 2005. I spent eight years as a quilting magazine editor and have spent the last seven working as a freelance quilt designer, pattern writer, illustrator, and proofer. Quilting is part of my daily life, whether it's designing quilts digitally or sewing with my boys (yep, they're quilters in training). I'd describe myself as a modern quilter, and improv is one of my favorite techniques.

I hope you'll browse around my blog while you're here and come back often!

More about the Shop Hop:
I am so grateful to be part of such a wonderful quilting community--including my local Great Lakes Modern Quilt Guild, and all of the quilty friends I've made online over the past several years. Quilters are such a generous and creative bunch, always willing to help each other out and constantly coming up with fabulous quilts to share.

For these next ten days, I want to take an opportunity to introduce to you to some of my favorite quilting colleagues and friends. All of these quilty businesses are super eager to greet you - our stay at home hoppers - and are offering you super special greetings and/or incentives!
Every few days I'll have ten new websites to share with you; see the first ten below. We hope you have fun exploring everything this great group of quilters has to offer.
