Introducing Pennant Party!
The quilt pattern that I'm sharing today has been five years in the making--or at least the idea for it has!
I'm thrilled to have my Pennant Party quilt included in the Art Gallery Fabrics lookbook for Alexandra Bordallo's first collection, Dew + Moss. See the entire lookbook here.
These fun prints--with gnomes, daisies, mushrooms, snails and bug jars are so whimsical, and I knew they'd be perfect for this quilt. Here are the fabrics I used (the bug jars are the backing for the quilt as well):
I made the first version of this quilt back in 2014 for my niece. I knew I wanted to write a pattern for it, but I kept putting it off. Last year, my mom sewed another version of it, which I'll show soon. Finally, this summer, I saw Dew + Moss and it was time!
My three favorite things about this quilt:
1) the sweet mini bunting print in the row backgrounds
2) the quilting I did on the borders and sashings
3) the dimensional pennants!
Yep, that's right - the pattern includes directions to make dimensional pennants. I put one in each row, but you could do as few or as many as you like. The remaining pennants are made using fusible raw edge applique.
Side view:
This backing fabric is so fun!
The colors are so bright and cheery!
I'm really happy with how this turned out.
